Adorn yourself in rare ‘Hawaiian velvet pearl’ jewelry.
Its nickname is forever velvet and is a slow labor of aloha to create each one-of-a-kind piece.
Each velvet seed is hand harvested and locally sourced, so that we can hand drill each one to ultimately carry on Grandpa Clarence’s tradition of lei hua (seed lei) making.
Hua weleweka lei are traditionally created for hula competitions such as the world renowned Annual Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawai’i (Moku o Keawe), as well as for the pa’u riders, or princess horse riders, for each Hawaiian island in the annual Ho’olaule’a Parade in Honolulu, O’ahu.
How to care for your hua weleweka:
Store in cool, shaded area
Avoid taking into salt water or chlorine, freshwater ok.
